In-Depth Look at the Origins of MILF Porn Reveals MILFs Are Getting Younger
Vice reveals why “shockingly young” women are cast as mothers in the popular and relatively new adult film genre
December 7, 2016As anyone who’s seen the 1967 film “The Graduate” can attest, mature erotic fantasies have been played out in popular culture for decades. MILF porn is much newer, but — according to a recently published Vice article detailing the rise of the genre — its starlets may be growing younger.
The term MILF — an acronym for “Mother I’d Like to Fuck” — was being tossed around sketchy internet message boards in the mid ’90s, but it wasn’t popularized until the raunchy 1999 comedy “American Pie.” From there, It took less than a year before MILF-themed porn sites started popping up all over the internet.
Vice argues the adult industry was especially ripe for a MILF porn explosion at that time because many of the era’s biggest porn stars (e.g. Jenna Jameson) were just hitting their 30s, which allowed them to be comfortably cast as MILFs. But demand for the genre soon eclipsed supply and porn producers eventually started casting “shockingly younger” starlets as horny moms.
“Where there was [once] a great divide between 22-year-olds and 35-year-olds … the gap started closing and more women were getting a MILF label. Now it seems if you are not a teen, you are a MILF,” porn star Tanya Tate told Vice.
