JD Harmeyer’s Prospective Wedding Guest List Causes an Uproar
See who is likely to get the invite, plus who is definitely not making the cut
JD Harmeyer is set to be married in 2018, but the major question on everyone’s mind is who will be making the guest list—especially after a rumor circulated the office that not a single Stern Show staffer would be invited.
“The girlfriend is a listener of the show. She met you through the show. What’s with the anti-show bias?” Howard wondered Wednesday morning.
JD explained that a lot has changed since he considered going that route. He said some coworkers will now be invited but others won’t be making the list. “There will be cuts and people will be disappointed … They might hate me,” he conceded.
Howard tried to get an early idea of exactly which staffers were likely to make the list, but JD was tight-lipped and hesitant to give a direct answer, save for a few definite “no’s” for Scott the Engineer, Benjy Bronk (who took great offense), Fred Norris, and Shuli Egar.
Ronnie “the Limo Driver” Mund seemed like a shoo-in, while Will Murray warned that there would be “hell to pay” if he wasn’t invited since he would take it as a “personal insult.”
Jason Kaplan, Richard Christy, Sal Governale, Jon Hein, and Gary Dell’Abate’s status on the list, meanwhile, remain unclear.
Another key detail JD was cagey about was the exact location of his coming nuptials, which he simply told Howard would be “out west,” making it a destination wedding.
“Well you might as well invite me, JD, because I was thinking about it … I’m not going to some destination wedding and I’ll send a gift and you know it’s going to be a good one,” Howard told his media producer. There was just one detail he would not compromise on: “JD, I know you didn’t announce your wedding on the show and my psychiatrist already told me that you’re entitled not to, but you better announce the invite list on this show,” Howard instructed.
A close second to the wedding guest list, both Howard and Fred Norris wondered if JD would be writing his own vows and even gave a live rendition of what that might sound like (below).
JD isn’t the only Stern Show staffer with a wedding on the horizon, either. Howard also questioned Ronnie “the Limo Driver” Mund about when he would be having his wedding.
“I don’t know,” the blunt 67-year-old quickly responded before assuring Howard that if left up to his fiancé, Stephanie, “the whole world will be there.”
As for Ronnie’s vows, the “Winter” author revealed he would be open to dusting off his poetry skills for the big day. “I’ll write a fucking poem, I’ve got no problem,” he said—but only if he’s able to catch some time in the bathroom to do it. “Dude, it’s so quiet in there. Nobody bothers me.”
