Early in the show, Howard congratulated Fred on the latest addition to his family: a dog adopted from the North Shore Animal League. Fred laughed that his input almost didn’t matter: “The dog actually picked my daughter.”
The Norrises named the golden retriever-collie mix Betty: “I think the brother was better looking, but this dog had a winning way about it.”
