Beth on Benjy’s New Look

Early in the show, Howard said he’d shown a picture of Benjy’s new look to Beth: “She said, ‘I always thought Benjy was a nice-looking guy but now he doesn’t look good.’ So she thought the opposite–that you used to be good-looking but now you’re ugly. Well, she didn’t say ugly but she said odd…so whatever he’s going for seems to be backfiring. Except with his girlfriend.” Robin thought Benjy’s girlfriend might be suffering from a distorted perspective: “Her eyes might be like one of those fun house mirrors. She doesn’t really see what she’s doing to Benjy.” Howard agreed, going one step further: “She wants Benjy to be a different guy. She wants him changed.” Robin nodded, adding: “But it’s not a good change.”
