The Joke Man Calls in for Plugs

Jackie ‘The Joke Man’ Martling called in and, as he was picking up, Howard laughed that Jackie had to regret leaving the show: “What he would’ve made in just one year with us–you think he’s earned that in the 10 years he’s been gone?” Jackie said Howard was more right than he knew: “I’ve made more in one day with you than I have in the last ten years.” Howard noted that Jackie was the kiss of death–not one film he’s been in has turned any sort of profit. Except one: “There was one movie that made $4,000.” Jackie jumped: “What movie was that? I never got paid!” Jackie said his financial situation wasn’t that bad, quoting Jackie Mason: “I never have to work again–unless I have to buy something.”
