"Could you turn JD into a winner?" Howard wonders
Rolling Stone writer Neil Strauss stopped by to observe the show and told the crew his magazine profiles were just for fun. He makes most of his money from book royalties–he’s best known for “The Game,” a book about his immersion into the world of pick-up artists.
Howard asked if Neil could pass his skills on to JD (“Could you turn JD into a winner?”), but Neil made no promises: “We can talk. I’ll see what I can do.”
Neil explained that, like most of the pick-up artist community, he’d chosen a handle (“Style”) when practicing The Game: “You don’t want girls you meet to look you up on the Internet and see what you’re doing.”
As “Style,” he’d learned a lot: “A 7 or an 8, for a guy who’s not good-looking like us, is going to be more difficult [to pick up] than a 9 or a 10 because they need to validate themselves with a good-looking guy.”
