A caller wanted to play a game, so Howard allowed him to play “Is Howard Older Than X?” Gary came in with questions. After incorrectly guessing that Howard was older than pantyhose, the microwave, and Meredith Vieira, the caller finally changed his tack and speculated that AA batteries were older. He was wrong. Howard became irritated: “I’ll tell you what, I’m giving you the money anyway because you’re so pathetic.”
