Since Richard was in the studio, Howard asked him about the music he caught JD playing yesterday in his office, before playing some of it on the air. As the music, which was techno, played, Howard pointed out he couldn’t stand listening to it. JD came into the studio to say he enjoyed it, even though he never attended clubs where that kind of music was prominent. After Richard pointed out people who listen to JD’s kind of techno music usually do Ecstasy, Artie recalled the first time he did the drug, only to end up masturbating to an episode of “WKRP in Cincinnati” after being left behind by a woman at a rave he attended earlier in the night. As Howard continued to play one of JD’s favorite techno songs, he decided the beginning of the tune would be the theme music played whenever JD was mentioned on the show in the future. Artie then noted if his son ever listened to that type of music, he’d “never stop punching him in the face.”
