Wendy’s Family Has Sold Their HomeWithout Finding a New One First
“All of us are going nuts right now. My mom’s not too happy, we’re all not happy,” the Wack Packer says of van life while house hunting
The real estate market is hotter than ever right now. For longtime Wack Packer Wendy it might even be too hot. While her mother made the decision to sell their Florida home recently, she is still hunting for new digs—resulting in Wendy’s family living on the road while they look. “They’re desperately searching for a new house, so Wendy’s mom takes these very long road trips. They go to North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, so they rotate where they’re sleeping,” Stern Show staffer Wolfie noted Tuesday morning of why the family has been spending the night in restaurant parking lots.
“All of us are going nuts right now. My mom’s not too happy, we’re all not happy,” Wendy confirmed after getting on the phone. “We had a house, but they backed out of the deal.”
The Wack Packer went on to discuss the challenges of using her mom’s van as home base, including her cat Robin breaking wind in her face and the logistics of using the bathroom. “We dig a hole and bury it,” Wendy explained of her mom’s use of a special shovel every time she has a bowel movement—a lengthy process that also includes the use of baby wipes.
“This is why they can’t find a house,” co-host Robin Quivers suggested. “Imagine if she did take three craps a day, that’s three hours out of house hunting.”
