VIDEO: Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Maya Rudolph Hunt for Santa’s Killer in ‘Murderville’ Christmas Special Trailer
Improvisational whodunnit returns to Netflix on Dec. 15
November 21, 2022“Ozark” star Jason Bateman and “SNL” standout Maya Rudolph help Will Arnett solve a Christmas-themed whodunnit in the trailer for “Who Killed Santa? A Murderville Mystery,” debuting Dec. 15 on Netflix.
The improv-filled holiday special sees Arnett reprising his role as Senior Detective Terry Seattle, a clumsy cop who along with two new little helpers must get to the bottom of Kris Kringle’s untimely death. Like on the original “Murderville,” which dropped Season 1 in February, Arnett is given the script for the murder mystery while his celebrity co-stars are not.
The clip begins with Arnett opening his door to find Bateman standing in the hallway. “Well, if it isn’t the ghost of Christmas ass,” Arnett tells him.
“That wasn’t very complimentary,” improvises Bateman, who spends much of the trailer dressed like an elf.
Developed by Krister Johnson and executive produced by Arnett, the series also co-stars Eliza Coupe, Kurt Braunohler, Haneefah Wood, Lilan Bowden, Dennice Cisneros, Tawny Newsome, and Courtney Parchman.
The holiday special is a reunion of sorts for Arnett and Bateman, who starred together on the critically acclaimed comedy series “Arrested Development.” When Bateman sat down with Howard in 2013, he opened up all about his journey from “Teen Wolf Too” to “Arrested Development.” Check out a clip from their conversation (below).
