Howard Receives an Official Commendation From Nassau County
“You, Howard Stern, have brought entertainment to countless people around the world with your boundary-pushing career,” the citation from County Executive Bruce Blakeman reads
January 23, 2024As if Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon serenading “Penis Man” to him wasn’t enough. On Tuesday Howard spoke of another sort of birthday gift he received — an official citation from Nassau County, N.Y., where he was raised. “’You, Howard Stern, have brought entertainment to countless people around the world with your boundary-pushing career and fearless approach to tackling controversial topics … the county of Nassau is proud to extend a commendation to you,’” Howard recited from the document by County Executive Bruce Blakeman.
That’s some sort of honor,” Howard said humbly after revealing the award was tied to the county’s 125th anniversary. “I have a feeling maybe he’s referring to the fact I was the first man to play the piano with my penis on the air.”
“That’s like being knighted by the Queen,” co-host Robin Quivers added.
Though Howard will most likely add the citation to his substantial archive, one thing he won’t be doing is telling his mother about it. “’For parking?’” he joked in her voice, noting how difficult it would be trying to explain it to her.
