AUDIO: Richard Requires Product Disclaimers on Tradio in New Phony Phone Call
“If you experience a large stool … stop using sewing machine and call your doctor right away,” Rusty’s lawyer says

Howard kicked off a new week with an all-new phony phone call, courtesy of staffer Richard Christy, who called into Tradio hoping to sell a used sewing machine for $35. The only problem? Richard, a.k.a. Rusty, first needed to air an outlandish disclaimer prepared by his lawyer.
“Sewing machine is not for everyone,” Rusty’s quick-talking lawyer said in the disclaimer. “Common side effects from using sewing machine may include the following: headache, nausea, impotence, and constipation … If you experience a large stool while using sewing machine, stop using sewing machine and call your doctor right away.”
The hosts couldn’t understand why a $35, as-is item needed a disclaimer — but then another Stern Show staffer called in. “I just bought Rusty’s sewing machine,” the staffer announced on Tradio. “God, I have a tremendously large and painful stool coming out.”
“I’m sorry, scratch that,” the Tradio host interrupted before ending the show.
