Vinnie Favale Checks in as David Letterman Checks Out
Vice President of CBS Late Night Programming East Coast reminisces about his time on "Late Show"
May 5, 2015Vincent P. Favale – better known as ‘Vinnie Favale’ or Mr. Debbie Favale is a longtime friend of the Howard Stern Show. As the Vice President of CBS Late Night Programming East Coast, he oversees – or ‘babysits’ as Howard puts it – The Late Show with David Letterman. Since Howard has a long relationship with Dave, Vinnie has been in the Stern Show universe for decades.
He called in right after Dave retired and he called in again this morning to promote the CBS [primetime salute to David Letterman.
Vinnie reported that this upcoming appearance (Howard is scheduled to make his final Late Show appearance on May 11) will be Howard’s 35th time sitting down with Dave between his NBC show and the Late Show. We’re not sure if that number is correct – other sources put the number in the 40s.
Either way, Howard and Dave have great admiration for each other and they’ll both miss their time together (Howard will at least – who knows what Dave feels).
As for Vinnie, he was allowed to executive produce the primetime Letterman tribute (the ‘real’ Late Show producers are busy producing the final episodes of the Late Show). He’s also working hard on Stephen Colbert’s Late Show, which will debut in September.
