Doobie Brothers, Nine Inch Nails, Whitney Houston, and T. Rex Among 2020 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees
This year’s class also includes Depeche Mode and Notorious B.I.G.
January 15, 2020The band that found a hit with “Takin’ It to the Streets” will soon be takin’ it to Cleveland.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame unveiled its 2020 class of inductees Wednesday on SiriusXM’s Volume channel. Veteran yacht rockers the Doobie Brothers made the cut along with industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails, British glam rockers T. Rex, British electronic music band Depeche Mode, rap icon Notorious B.I.G., and singer Whitney Houston, who remains one of the best-selling artists of all time.
It was the first time on the ballot for the Doobie Brothers, Houston, T. Rex, and Notorious B.I.G., the last of whom factored into a recent conversation about conspiracy theories with High Register Sean.
Additionally, record producer Jon Landau and entertainment executive Irving Azoff will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award honoring songwriters, producers, disc jockeys, record executives, journalists, and other industry professionals who have had a major influence on Rock & Roll.
The 35th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place May 2 at Public Auditorium in Cleveland. The event will air at 8 p.m. on May 2 on HBO. Watch the announcement video (below).
