VIDEO: First ‘Stranger Things 4’ Teaser Reveals a Presumed Dead Character Alive and Enslaved in Soviet Russia
Netflix’s award-winning sci-fi horror series stars Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, and Winona Ryder
February 14, 2020A familiar face returns in the spoiler-filled debut teaser for Season 4 of Netflix’s genre-bending series “Stranger Things,” but they’re far, far away from their trans-dimensional-demon-fighting cohorts in Hawkins, Indiana.
Titled “From Russia with Love,” the newly released clip (above) shows David Harbour’s beloved character Chief Hopper doing manual labor in what seems to be a snow-covered Russian gulag. While his situation does seem dire, his mere existence should come as sweet relief to those who thought he had perished during Season 3.
Though the teaser doesn’t reveal too many Season 4 plot details, the show’s creators, the Duffer brothers, have released a slightly more illuminating statement: “We’re excited to officially confirm that production on Stranger Things 4 is now underway — and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper!” they said. “Although it’s not all good news for our ‘American’; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human … and other. Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything….”
“Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime — pray for the American,” the Duffer brothers added.
In addition to Harbour, “Stranger Things” stars Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Natalia Dyer, and Caleb McLaughlin, among others.
