VIDEO: Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston’s Belated Honeymoon Turns Deadly in First ‘Murder Mystery’ Trailer
Comedy arrives June 14 on Netflix
April 26, 2019Repeat Stern Show guest Adam Sandler and co-star Jennifer Aniston are a bickering couple whose belated European honeymoon takes a turn for the dangerously hilarious in “Murder Mystery,” coming to Netflix in June.
The film’s first trailer begins with Nick Spitz (Sandler), a New York City police officer, and his wife Audrey (Aniston) aboard a transatlantic flight as they’re preparing to take the vacation he’s been promising her for well over a decade.
“We’ve actually been married for 15 years,” Aniston’s character explains to Charles (Luke Evans), a mysterious man she meets on the flight. “But we’ve just been very, very, very, very busy.”
The frustrated couple’s luck seems to change after he invites them aboard a mega-yacht for an intimate gathering hosted by an elderly billionaire, but the Spitzs’ champagne wishes and caviar dreams turn into a nightmare when the rich old man is murdered on the ship. Soon, they’re dodging bullets in libraries and outrunning cops in stolen Ferraris, which just might be the thing to reignite the spark in their marriage. “Do you have any idea how gorgeous you look?” Sandler tells his co-star as she drives them away from hot pursuit.
Adam has joined the Stern Show on several occasions over the years, most recently last September when he sat down with Howard to discuss a different Netflix project, his musical stand-up special “100% Fresh.” The legendary comedian opened up about a variety of subjects during the interview, including meeting Bruce Springsteen at a gym and getting strange feedback on one of his most popular tunes. Adam also shared a “Murder Mystery” anecdote which involved him and Aniston going over to George Clooney’s house to have dinner with him, his wife Amal, and a rock legend from U2.
“[Clooney is] a great dude and him and his wife gave us a great night … We had fun. They made pizzas and we had a good time. And Bono was there,” Adam told Howard, adding: “I acted very psychotic staring at him while he’s talking.” Check out Sandler’s full interview here.
