VIDEO: Orlando Bloom Goes to Bed With a Winged Cara Delevingne in ‘Carnival Row’ Official Trailer
Amazon’s Victorian-era fantasy noir series debuts Labor Day Weekend
August 8, 2019Humans struggle to coexist with kindly fairytale creatures in the official trailer for Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne’s “Carnival Row,” Amazon’s Victorian-era fantasy noir series debuting at the end of the month.
Cara stars as Vignette Stonemoss, a winged faerie whose species is forced to flee from its homeland and take refuge in an intolerant human city. Further complicating matters, the character is embroiled in an illicit affair with the human police detective Rycroft Philostrate (Bloom). The two get intimate early on in the trailer, but their romance eventually sours and before long she’s sneaking up on him in bed and putting a dagger at his throat.
Intrapersonal squabbles aside, Bloom and Delevingne’s characters are tasked with hunting down a ferocious killer targeting all manner of fantastical creatures while also trying to navigate an increasingly perilous socio-political landscape which sees prejudicial humans clashing with mystical refugees on a regular basis.
Created by René Echevarria and Travis Beacham and directed by Jon Amiel, the eight-episode series co-stars Karla Crome, David Gyasi, Indira Varma, Scott Reid, and Tamzin Merchant.
“Carnival Row” debuts Aug. 30 on Amazon Prime Video.
