VIDEO: Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver’s Love for Each Other Isn’t Enough in New ‘Marriage Story’ Trailer
Laura Dern, Alan Alda, and Ray Liotta co-star in Noah Baumbach’s upcoming relationship dramedy
October 18, 2019Stern Show veterans Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver care about each other greatly in Netflix’s “Marriage Story,” but it’s not enough to keep their relationship from falling apart.
The official trailer for the upcoming Noah Baumbach film debuted this week on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” just a few days after Howard sat down with Ellen himself. Set to Sir Paul McCartney’s “Maybe I’m Amazed,” the “Marriage Story” clip begins with Charlie (Driver) and Nicole (Johansson) going back and forth about what they love about one another, from their parenting styles to their drive and temperament. Nevertheless, a divorce is seemingly on the horizon.
“It’s not as simple as not being in love anymore,” Scarlett’s character explains (above).
With the help of parents, friends, and several divorce attorneys—played by co-stars Ray Liotta, Laura Dern, and Alan Alda, among others—the two must figure out a way to dissolve their marriage without destroying their family.
As Stern Show fans will remember, Driver stopped by in 2015 and spoke candidly to Howard about everything from his Marine Corps service to his role as Kylo Ren in the “Star Wars” films, which he’ll soon reprise again with December’s “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” Scarlett made an appearance more recently in 2017 and opened up to everything about her real-life romances to roles she’s missed out on throughout her career. She also told Howard she had a small crush on a certain celebrity chef. Watch a clip from the interview (below).
“Marriage Story” debuts Nov. 6 in theaters before hitting Netflix on Dec. 6.
