AUDIO: Sir Paul McCartney Shares Two New Beatlesesque Songs, ‘Home Tonight’ and ‘In a Hurry’
Unreleased ‘Egyptian Station’ tracks part of Record Store Day Black Friday
November 25, 2019Former Beatle and repeat Stern Show visitor Paul McCartney has shared two new songs, “Home Tonight” and “In a Hurry,” both which will be available later this week as part of Record Store Day Black Friday 2019. The tracks, left over from 2018’s “Egyptian Station,” have a healthy balance of Beatles and Wings-era melodies with modern touches. Both were recorded with producer Greg Kurstin (Foo Fighters, The Bird and the Bee).
In the exclusive spirit of Record Store Day, the songs will be available on a double A-side seven-inch picture disc single. “The limited-edition vinyl … will feature new and exclusively created artwork based on the parlor game Exquisite Corpse along with a lyric insert,” a statement on McCartney’s site read.
Sir Paul was last in with Howard in 2018, discussing everything from meeting partner John Lennon to the stories behind some of the Beatles’ most iconic songs, to making new music.
“In a Hurry” and “Home Tonight” are available now for streaming and out in physical form Friday, Nov. 29.
