VIDEO: U2 Drops Live Acoustic Version of ‘Love Is Bigger Than Anything in Its Way’ From Jack White’s Nashville Record Studio
Recent Stern Show guests perform on Facebook ahead of upcoming special-edition vinyl record
May 30, 2018U2 has gone back to basics in a newly released performance video.
On Sunday, the Irish rock legends went live from Nashville on Facebook, turning in an acoustic rendition of “Love Is Bigger Than Anything in Its Way” (above). The band, consisting of Adam Clayton, Larry Mullen Jr., and recent Stern Show guests Bono and The Edge, put on the show from Jack White’s Third Man Records.
“When you think you’re done, you’ve just begun,” reads the caption for the video, which was released in anticipation of the band’s upcoming special-edition vinyl record.
“Love Is Bigger Than Anything in Its Way” hails from “Songs of Experience,” the 2017 album Bono and The Edge discussed with Howard during their December visit. While in the studio, the renowned rockers also performed several hits and opened up about the early ups and downs of their prolific career.
U2 is currently midway through its “Experience + Innocence” tour, but as Howard revealed earlier this month the band plans to hit pause for one night in June to perform a separate show at the world-famous Apollo Theater. It will be a special, invitation-only concert for SiriusXM subscribers, who will have the opportunity to win tickets to the show.
