VIDEO: Fred Armisen and Maya Rudolph’s Comfortable Marriage Gets Turned Upside Down in ‘Forever’ Trailer
Comedy series about life and love debuts Sept. 14 on Amazon
August 2, 2018Fred Armisen and Maya Rudolph’s comfortable suburban life gets turned on its ear in “Forever,” an upcoming Amazon comedy series about love, marriage, and everything in between.
The show’s official trailer (above) begins with a sweet montage showing June (Maya) and Oscar (Fred) as they fall in love, get hitched, find a house in the suburbs, and settle into a comfortable routine. After 12 years of identical walks, conversations, and shuffle board games, however, the routine grows monotonous, so they decide to spice up their marriage with a ski trip—somehow leading to a massive upending of their lives, which includes weird conversations of butterflies, cult-like beach bonfires, and Fred’s character picking up a sharp-looking knife.
In addition to starring on the new series, the “Saturday Night Live” veterans both serve as executive producers alongside its Emmy-winning creators Alan Yang (“Master of None”) and Matt Hubbard (“30 Rock”). Fred—whose hit IFC series “Portlandia” concluded earlier this year—has memorably joined the Stern Show several times over the years, both solo and alongside his and Maya’s former “SNL” colleagues Bill Hader and Seth Meyers. During his most recent visit, Fred revealed his off-camera life is far more interesting than the one depicted on his new show. Listen to his conversation with Howard about a run-in with Prince (below).
