Weezer’s ‘Can’t Knock the Hustle’ Music Video Has Toe Sucking, Spork Stabbing, and an Uber-Driving Pete Wentz

Pete Wentz plays an Uber driver turned product pitchman in Weezer’s wild new music video for “Can’t Knock the Hustle,” a single off the band’s just-announced 2019 effort, “The Black Album.”

The Guy Blelloch-directed clip (above) begins with the Fall Out Boy frontman and repeat Stern Show guest picking up a pair of lovebirds in Los Angeles for what turns out to be a memorable ride. Things start off hot and heavy in Pete’s backseat and get even more intense after the female passenger’s (Romane Recalde) socks come off, much to Pete’s chagrin. But the tone of the ride takes a twist after she spots a sext message on her man’s phone. The couple starts arguing, a spork appears, and soon enough Pete’s backseat is covered in blood.

The two continue making out with blood on their faces while Pete drives them to the emergency room. It’s there he barks his first line of the video: “Get the fuck out of the car!”

Pete’s shift ends, the sun comes up, and the video takes another unexpected twist as Pete gulps down a fictional beverage and looks directly into the camera. “Pineaplemon,” he says. “For when life comes at you fast.”

In addition to dropping a new song, music video, and album on Thursday, Weezer announced a new string of 2019 tour dates with the Pixies. This follows other recent releases from the past Stern Show guests, including a song called “California Snow” and two well-received Toto covers.
