VIDEO: Coldplay’s Career-Spanning Documentary ‘A Head Full of Dreams’ Drops Official Trailer
Chris Martin-fronted rock band’s new film hits theaters for one night only on Nov. 14
October 12, 2018One of Britain’s most celebrated bands hopes to take fans on an adventure of a lifetime in the upcoming documentary “Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams.”
The band dropped its official trailer Friday, which celebrates Coldplay and frontman Chris Martin’s decades worth of successes. Directed by Mat Whitecross—a filmmaker who has been recording the band since their first rehearsal—“A Head Full of Dreams” features rare footage from concerts, practices, and quiet moments alike. It also focuses on heavier subjects the band has endured over the years, including addiction and criticism.
The clip even teases a scene showing Coldplay’s very formation, in 1996, when the guys were still just college students and aspiring musicians. “[We’re] gonna go on to be such a huge band,” Martin, a repeat Stern Show guest, says on grainy film (above). “Guy [Berryman], Will [Champion], Jon [Jonny Buckland] and Chris: Don’t you forget it. Massive, absolutely huge.”
“A Head Full of Dreams” hits select theaters Nov. 14 for a special one-night screening with tickets going on sale Oct. 19. For those who cant make it to the movies, the film arrives Nov. 16 on Amazon Prime Video.
On Oct. 26, Amazon Music will reportedly also debut three live Coldplay tracks in anticipation of the film, including “Don’t Panic” and a “Stayin’ Alive” cover featuring Barry Gibb.
Stern Show fans might also remember Chris performing another famous cover during his most recent visit to the Stern Show.
