VIDEO: Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, and Dustin Hoffman Sing Together in ‘Meyerowitz Stories’ Teaser
Noah Baumbach’s upcoming Netflix film also stars Emma Thompson, Elizabeth Marvel, Candice Bergen, and Adam Driver
August 15, 2017Dustin Hoffman heads a dysfunctional family in the teaser for Netflix’s “The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected).”
Noah Baumbach (“While We’re Young”) wrote and directed the family-focused comedy-drama, which premiered earlier this year at Cannes Film Festival and debuts in October on the digital streamer. The film follows Hoffman’s family, including two sons (Adam Sandler and Ben Stiller), a daughter (Elizabeth Marvel), and two of his wives (Emma Thompson and Candice Bergen), gathering together in New York to celebrate his oeuvre as a sculptor.
The teaser (above) starts of with Sandler sitting down at the piano to sing a silly song about his father mishearing a man’s name. Soon enough, Stiller, Hoffman, and Marvel are harmonizing right along with him. In addition to the sing-a-long, the short glimpse shows a frustrated Hoffman snapping a pool cue in half and Stiller punching Sandler right in his face.
Hoffman, who famously “discovered” Stern Show-regular Jonah Hill while he was doing pranks, called into the Stern Show show back in 2009. Stiller and Sandler, meanwhile, are each recent guests of the show. Stiller, who will soon be directing Benicio Del Toro and Patricia Arquette in a prison break series, sat down with Howard in October 2016 to discuss his courageous battle with prostate cancer, while Sandler dropped by in April to discuss another of his upcoming Netflix projects: “The Week Of,” a film that will also feature the Stern Show’s own Ronnie “the Limo Driver” Mund.
“The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected),” also featuring Grace Van Patten and 2016 Stern Show guest Adam Driver, lands on Netflix on Oct. 13.
