Broken Lizard’s long-anticipated sequel hits theaters next April

Vermont’s least-competent, most hilarious law enforcers are back.
Broken Lizard has just debuted the red band teaser for “Super Troopers 2,” the comedy troupe’s long-anticipated sequel to its 2001 cult comedy about five inept and infantile highway patrolmen who must save their jobs by solving a crime.
The stakes are raised for the sequel, which hits theaters next year and is once again directed by Jay Chandrasekhar and co-written by him and his Broken Lizard compatriots. The red band teaser (above) hints at everything from a border dispute between the Vermont Highway Patrol and their Canadian colleagues to a subplot about the forced shaving of someone’s testicles.
In addition to returning stars Chandrasekhar, Kevin Hefferman, Erik Stolhanske, Paul Soter, Steve Lemme, Brian Cox, and Jim Gaffigan, the sequel features newcomers Rob Lowe, Emmanuelle Chriqui, and Lynda Carter, the original “Wonder Woman.”
