VIDEO: Queen Drops Unreleased Freddie Mercury Version of ‘All Dead, All Dead’
40-year-old “News of the World” cut was originally sung by lead guitarist Brian May

For the first time, Queen fans can hear Freddie Mercury sing the band’s classic piano ballad “All Dead, All Dead.”
The song was penned and originally sang by lead guitarist Brian May on the band’s 1977 album “News of the World.” Now, a few weeks ahead of the album’s 40th anniversary reissue, Queen has released a “hybrid version” (above) featuring Mercury, the band’s late frontman, on vocals.
May reportedly wrote “All Dead, All Dead” about the death of his childhood cat and, fittingly, the newly released lyric video follows an animated feline. The curious kitty spends much of the song exploring the inner-workings of a giant robot—the same one featured prominently on the original “News of the World” album cover (below).
