Ozzy Osbourne Announces Final World Tour Running Through 2020
Metal legend’s farewell festivities kick off in Mexico next May
November 6, 2017After 50 years, the crazy train is finally approaching the end of the line.
Ozzy Osbourne on Monday announced his farewell world tour, a massive string of solo performances kicking off in Mexico next May and extending all the way through 2020.
“People keep asking me when I’m retiring,” he said in a statement published on his website. “This will be my final world tour, but I can’t say I won’t do some shows here and there.”
The 68-year-old music icon, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, and Stern Show veteran began touring back in the 1960s as the frontman for metal pioneers Black Sabbath and has reportedly taken the stage 2,500 times since. The performances of the so-called Prince of Darkness are nothing short of legendary, whether he’s biting the head off a bat or belting out “Bark at the Moon” during a total solar eclipse.
Ozzy will be joined by longtime collaborators Zakk Wylde (guitar), Blasko (bass), Tommy Clufetos (drums), and Adam Wakeman (keyboards) on his farewell tour, which after Mexico hits three countries in South America before heading to Europe for a six-week leg starting in June. The massive tour will of course hit North American venues at some point, too, with further details to be revealed in 2018.
