11-year-old Landis Sims could probably teach the Stern Show’s Gary Dell’Abate a thing or two about throwing a baseball

A young Yankees fan threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a baseball game earlier this month and made it look easy, despite being born without hands or lower legs. Eleven-year-old Landis Sims lobbed the ball to home plate and into the glove of catcher Gary Sánchez with ease — too bad the Stern Show’s executive producer Gary Dell’Abate can’t say the same about his own first pitch from 2009.
Before Landis took the field, his mom Amanda Haag told ABC News her son wouldn’t be nervous about throwing the first pitch, explaining he’s had a “Watch me. I can do this … don’t tell me I can’t” attitude his whole life.
“He’s very confident in who he is and his baseball abilities and he’ll be the first one to tell you, he’s going to play in the MLB,” Haag said of Landis.
Landis’s dream of becoming a New York Yankee came true after the team signed their special fan to a one-day contract. He then got to take batting practice with one of the biggest names in baseball: Alex Rodriguez.
