Kevin Hart and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Are Kids at Heart in First ‘Jumanji’ Trailer
"Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle," also starring Jack Black and Karen Gillan, hits theaters in December
June 29, 2017Kevin Hart, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan are kids at heart in the official trailer for “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” the eagerly-anticipated follow-up to the 1995 original.
Like its predecessor, this story begins after a group of unsuspecting kids plays a dangerous jungle-themed game. This time, however, the kids get sucked into the jungle itself and transported into the adult bodies of the film’s stars.
Set to the Guns ‘N Roses song of the same name, the trailer for “Welcome to the Jungle” (above) plays more for laughs than for thrills, with much of the humor rooted in character transformations—the kids who become Jack and Kevin are disappointed with their new bodies, for example, while the nerdy kid who morphs into The Rock has a field day flexing his newfound muscles.
Both Jack and Kevin have visited the Stern Show on multiple occasions, with Kevin appearing earlier this month ahead of his autobiography “I Can’t Make This Up: Life Lessons.” While he didn’t share any stories about being sucked into a video game, he did have a lot to say about his wild childhood.
