Jason Sudeikis, Elizabeth Olsen, and Ed Harris Go on a Picture-Perfect Road Trip in ‘Kodachrome’
Trailer for new Netflix film features photography, family, and the music of Graham Nash
March 29, 2018A picture is worth a thousand words but for father and son Ben and Matt Ryder (played by Ed Harris and Jason Sudeikis respectively) their conversations are rarely civil in the new trailer for “Kodachrome” (above). The upcoming Netflix original movie tells the story of their strained relationship as the two journey to the American heartland in an effort to develop an aging roll of Kodachrome film.
Accompanying them on their cross-country road trip is Elizabeth Olsen who plays Harris’s character’s nurse. The three must race to the Kansan photo lab still processing the outdated film before the shop closes for good and before Harris succumbs to his terminal illness – seeing what memories are captured on the Kodachrome roll being his last dying wish.
“Kodachrome,” which comes to the streaming platform (and select theaters) in late April, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2017. In addition to its themes of family and photography, the movie features music from artists like Pearl Jam, Ty Segall, and Stern Show guest Graham Nash, whose 1971 track “Better Days” accompanies the trailer.
