VIDEO: Bruce Willis Trades Zingers With Jeff Ross in ‘Sixth Sense’-Inspired Trailer for His Comedy Central Roast
“This is going to be a long M. Night,” the action star laments ahead of the July 29 special which Joseph Gordon-Levitt-will host
June 22, 2018Bruce Willis channels “The Sixth Sense” opposite insult artist Jeff Ross in the debut trailer for Comedy Central’s upcoming roast of the action star, airing in July.
The past Stern Show guests spend the minute-long teaser (above) whispering zingers back and forth to each other in the style of the infamous “I see dead people” line Haley Joel Osment delivered to Bruce in the 1999 thriller.
Jeff spoke to Howard in 2015 all about how he crafted roast jokes for past celebrities like Joan Rivers to Justin Bieber. In this newly released trailer, (above) he offers up more of the same, dragging Bruce across the coals on a variety of matters, including the actor’s age, lack of hair, social relevance, and affinity for action films like his upcoming heist film “Reprisal” and last year’s “Death Wish” remake. Bruce, on the other hand, limits most of his critiques to Jeff’s appearance.
Jeff ends the clip parodying Bruce’s iconic “Die Hard,” yelling, “Yippee-ki-roast, motherfucker!” as he wiggles his toes in bed.
To which Bruce can only shake his head and reply, “This is going to be a long M. Night.”
Actor and fellow Stern Show veteran Joseph Gordon-Levitt will serve as Roast Master for the event, with other members of the roasting dais to be announced at a later date. “I’ve looked up to Bruce my whole life. I was genuinely honored to work alongside him and, in essence, play him when we made ‘Looper’ together,” Gordon-Levitt said in a statement. “He has treated me with absolutely nothing but warmth and kindness. And so I look forward to mercilessly making fun of him on TV.”
The Bruce Willis roast takes place July 14 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles and airs at 10 p.m. on July 29 on Comedy Central. Watch the trailer (above).
