AUDIO: Dave Matthews Band Releases New Single ‘Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin)’
Song hails from the rockers’ upcoming album “Come Tomorrow,” featuring recent Stern Show guest Brandi Carlile

Dave Matthews Band has just dropped “Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin),” the lead single off the prolific rockers’ forthcoming ninth studio album, “Come Tomorrow.”
Frontman Dave Matthews wrote the ruminative track, which his Virginia-based band has been performing in concert since 2016. Its lyrics describe a subject whose innocence is lost but eventually regained by marinating in the memories of a childhood well lived.
Recorded in Seattle, “Come Tomorrow” will also feature a title-track contribution from folk singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile, who made her Stern Show debut in April. She sat with Howard for a fascinating interview before performing some of her biggest hits live in the studio.
