Two restrained teenage girls let loose before going off to college in the red band trailer for “Booksmart,” an upcoming comedy from 2016 Stern Show guest and first-time director Olivia Wilde.

Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein star as Amy and Molly, best friends who spent most of their high school careers focusing on their studies instead of their social lives. But with the end drawing near they decide to try breaking some rules for a change.

“We have to go to a party tonight,” Beanie tells Kaitlyn’s character. “Nobody knows that we are fun. We didn’t party because we wanted to focus on school and get into good colleges … We haven’t done anything. We haven’t broken any rules.”

Things go differently than they planned, however, and the teaser (above) shows the duo robbing pizza delivery drivers, spraying themselves with mace, getting handcuffed by cops, and possibly experimenting with Korean face masks.

Beanie, who previously appeared on Broadway and opposite Saoirse Ronan in the Oscar-nominated film “Lady Bird,” was a topic of conversation last year on the Stern Show when her brother Jonah Hill came in to promote his own directorial debut, “Mid90s.” “She’s my best friend in the entire world. I wouldn’t have made it through life without her,” Jonah told Howard at the time.

“Booksmart” also stars Jessica Williams, Lisa Kudrow, Will Forte, and Wilde’s partner, actor and “Saturday Night Live” veteran Jason Sudeikis. Olivia memorably opened up about the origins of their relationship to Howard during her Stern Show debut. Watch a clip from her sit-down (below).

“Booksmart” opens May 24.
