VIDEO: Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, and Rachel Dratch Get Tipsy in 'Wine Country' Trailer

A group of friends travel to Napa Valley for a scenic getaway but encounter more hijinks, hilarity, and alcohol than they can handle in “Wine Country,” an ensemble Netflix comedy directed by and starring Stern Show veteran Amy Poehler.

The film follows Abby (Poehler) and her gal pals—played by Maya Rudolph, Paula Pell, Emily Spivey, and Ana Gasteyer—as they whisk away their friend Rebecca (Rachel Dratch) for what’s supposed to be a relaxing birthday trip to a few vineyards. “I just want this to feel like a regular vacation, and somewhere in there I’ll just slide into 50,” Dratch tells them.

But the plan goes to hell not long after uncorking the first bottle as their itinerary for the trip quite literally flies out the window. Soon, the group is drinking, arguing, rolling down hills, drinking more, and singing Bangles songs from atop a piano while each of their relationships get put to the test.

“Just remember guys, whatever gets said is probably what the person has always felt and the alcohol just let it out,” a sommelier played by repeat Stern Show guest Tina Fey explains.

Written by Spivey and Liz Cackowski, “Wine Country” also co-stars Jason Schwartzman and Cherry Jones. It’s the first film Poehler has directed, though she previously helmed episodes of “Broad City” and “Parks and Recreation.”

When Amy joined the Stern Show in 2014, she told Howard all about working alongside Dratch, a real-life friend, on “Saturday Night Live.” Poehler revealed she only broke character to laugh once during her tenure on the sketch-comedy series, and it was thanks to Rachel’s portrayal of her recurring character Debbie Downer.
