VIDEO: George Takei Stars Alongside Snakes and Shape-Shifting Spirits in ‘The Terror: Infamy’ Trailer
Horror anthology series' second season debuts Aug. 12 on AMC
June 20, 2019AMC has released the trailer for “The Terror: Infamy,” a horror anthology installment starring longtime Stern Show guest George Takei as a fishing captain and community elder stuck in a haunted internment camp.
The short clip begins with Franklin D. Roosevelt’s infamous speech following the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 which led to both the U.S. entering World War II and also the forced relocation and unjust incarceration of over 100,000 Japanese Americans.
“The Terror: Infamy” follows one Japanese-American community afflicted both by the forced relocation and a supernatural evil which follows them from their Southern California home to the internment camps and even across the ocean to the war in the Pacific. Derek Mio stars as Chester Nakayama, an enlisted soldier who investigates a rash of mysterious deaths and seeks to learn more about a shape-shifting specter haunting his community.
Produced by Ridley Scott and co-created by Max Borenstein and Alexander Woo, “The Terror: Infamy” also stars Kiki Sukezane, Naoko Mori, Cristina Rodlo, and others alongside Mio and Takei, the latter of whom was also a real life victim of U.S. internment camps when he was a young boy. George has spoken publicly about his experiences for years and his story even served as the impetus for the Broadway musical “Allegiance,” which George starred in and Howard, Robin Quivers, and Gary Dell’Abate saw back in 2015.
“The Terror: Infamy” premieres Monday, Aug. 12 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
