AUDIO: Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds Drops New Ditty ‘Wandering Star’
Single hails from the Oasis co-founder's 2020 EP “Blue Moon Rising”
November 14, 2019Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds just released “Wandering Star,” a new single off the band’s forthcoming EP “Blue Moon Rising,” available in March.
Recorded at legendary London studio Abbey Road, Noel praised his band’s new tune in a statement: “It’s that good, it sounds like it took 5.4 people to come up with it. It’s already a live standard and we haven’t even played it yet.”
While Noel has released a handful of albums and EPs with High Flying Birds, the Stern Show veteran is still best known as the guitarist, songwriter, and co-founder of Oasis, along with his brother Liam Gallagher.
Liam sat down with Howard in 2017 and performed solo songs, Oasis hits, and revealed he’d be happy to one-day get the band back together with his brother—just as soon as they can start getting along. “When we start liking each other, inevitably I think the next step would be to take the band out for a little spin around the block,” Liam told Howard, adding, “I love Oasis, it’s the best thing ever.”
When Noel joined the Stern Show in 1997, he wowed listeners with acoustic renditions of two of Oasis’s most enduring hits. See his “Don’t Look Back in Anger” performance (below).
