VIDEO: ‘Man in the High Castle’ Teases War and Revolution in Trailer for Final Season
Amazon’s Philip K. Dick-inspired and Ridley Scott-produced sci-fi drama returns in the fall
February 20, 2019All good things come to an end, it seems—even critically acclaimed TV shows about alternate universes in which the Axis powers won World War II before carving up America like a Thanksgiving turkey.
Amazon just announced and released a teaser for the fourth and final season of “The Man in the High Castle,” its Philip K. Dick-inspired and Ridley Scott-produced sci-fi drama starring Rufus Sewell, Alexa Davalos, and Joel De La Fuente, among others. The clip (above) teases war, revolution, and the possible end of multiple worlds.
“It has been a great privilege to work alongside our extraordinary ‘High Castle’ team, in partnership with David Zucker and Scott Free, to bring my father’s classic novel to life, particularly during this tumultuous period in our real world. I believe fans will be thrilled and satisfied by the epic conclusion we have in store for them,” executive producer Isa Dick Hackett said in a statement.
While Amazon’s short teaser doesn’t betray many plot points, its description does hint at some of what is to come. The Resistance, led by Juliana Crain (Davalos), will evolve into an all-out rebellion while a Black insurgent movement will emerge to fend off Nazis and imperialists alike. But the Nazis have been busy, too, constructing their own portal to another universe. Ultimately, Reichsmarschall John Smith (Sewell) must decide whether he wants to step through and see what’s on the other side.
“The Man in the High Castle” Season 4 debuts on Amazon Prime Video in the fall.
