VIDEO: Don Cheadle Channels Eddie Murphy and Paul Scheer Roller Skates Shirtless in Season 2 Trailer for Seth Rogen’s ‘Black Monday’
Andrew Rannells and Regina Hall co-star on Showtime’s stock market dramedy, returning in March
January 17, 2020The market may have already crashed but the fallout has only begun in new trailer for Season 2 of “Black Monday,” Evan Goldberg and repeat Stern Show guest Seth Rogen’s returning Showtime dramedy about Wall Street traders and their woes during the stock market slump of 1987.
Don Cheadle stars as Maurice “Mo” Monroe, a trader who became a wanted man and went on the run after the calamitous events of Season 1. The new clip (above) shows Mo sporting a new hairdo if not a new outlook on life. “There was a time that this life was all I ever wanted,” he says over a montage of fast cars, faster speedboats, and co-star Paul Scheer roller-skating shirtless on a boardwalk.
With Cheadle’s character out of the picture, Wall Street seems to have crowned two new rulers in Dawn (Regina Hall) and Blair (Andrew Rannells), the second of whom spends much of the trailer doing calisthenics in his briefs and getting run over by golf carts. But Mo apparently doesn’t intend to stay away for long and the trailer ends with him back in the office, delivering line readings from Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall’s iconic ‘80s comedy “Coming to America.”
Created by David Caspe (“Happy Endings”) and Jordan Cahan, “Black Monday” is co-executive produced by James Weaver along with Goldberg, Rogen, and Cheadle. The series also co-stars Ken Marino, Yassir Lester, Horatio Sans, June Diane Raphael and Dulé Hill, among others.
“Black Monday” Season 2 debuts March 15 on Showtime.
