VIDEO: Gal Gadot and Kristen Wiig Have a Catfight in New Action-Packed ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ Trailer

Gal Gadot has a catfight with “Saturday Night Live” veteran Kristen Wiig in the new trailer for DC Comics’ upcoming superhero sequel “Wonder Woman 1984.”

Patty Jenkins returns to direct the follow-up which once again co-stars Robin Wright, Chris Pine, and Connie Nielsen alongside Gadot’s titular heroine who this time fights the forces of evil in the 1980s. Wiig joins the franchise as the ferocious feline villain Cheetah along with “Narcos” and “Game of Thrones” actor Pedro Pascal as Maxwell Lord, a nefarious businessman promising to make everyone’s wildest dreams come true.

Come through they do both for Wiig, who transforms from an animal print-wearing introvert to an “apex predator” with cheetah-like dexterity and razor-sharp claws, and Wonder Woman herself, who gets an unexpected reunion with her lost love from the first film, Steve Allen (Pine).

The explosive new “WW84” trailer has action aplenty as Gadot’s hero uses her magic lasso to block bullets, fly through the air, and ride literal lightning before facing off against Wiig’s Cheetah in an epic showdown. The clip goes for laughs, too, with Pine’s fish-out-of-water character adjusting to everything the 1980s has to offer from the latest tools of war to parachute pants.

“Wonder Woman 1984” is slated to open in theaters on Oct. 2.
