VIDEO: Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox Reconnect With All Their TV Pals in ‘Friends: The Reunion’ Trailer
David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry also headline the James Corden-hosted special
May 20, 2021There’s good news for TV lovers who feel like they’re always stuck in second gear! The cast of “Friends” will be there for them once again later this month as they all reunite for a hotly anticipated roundtable on the original set of their classic sitcom, which ran for 10 successful seasons before saying farewell in 2004.
“Friends” stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry will headline the James Corden-hosted event, an unscripted celebration of the show filled with teary-eyed reflections, probing questions, special guests, conversations about 25-year-old plot points, and even a table read of a classic episode.
“I remember I went to the producer of the show I was on, and he said, “[‘Friends] is not going to make you a star,” Aniston recalls in the trailer (above).
“Friends: The Reunion” is a longtime coming for fans who’ve long clamored to get the cast back together in some way, shape, or form. For years, it wasn’t clear if it would ever happen, but when Aniston visited the Stern Show in 2019 she shared new details about a dinner she’d recently enjoyed with her former co-stars and the possibility of an eventual “Friends” revival.
“We would love it, [but] I really think there’s an idea if there’s a reboot of the show it won’t be as close to as good as what it was, so why do it?” Jennifer told Howard. Watch a clip from their conversation below.
“Friends: The Reunion” arrives May 27 on HBO Max.
