Hawkins, Indiana’s rag-tag group of trans-dimensional demon warriors find themselves in a precarious position for the fourth installment of Netflix’s Emmy-winning, ‘80s-set sci-fi horror series “Stranger Things.”

The trailer begins with the town mourning the loss of lifeguard turned demonically possessed kidnapper Billy Hargrove (Dacre Montgomery). Meanwhile, Police Chief Hopper (David Harbour) has been thrust into a Demogorgan-filled Russian gulag and the main group of kids from Hawkins have been thrust into somewhere only slightly less scary: high school.

Making matters worse, our young telekinetic heroine, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), has lost her super powers while the town is now being terrorized by a new batch of Upside Down émigrés, including an eyeless Victor Creel (played by famed Freddy Kreuger actor Robert Englund), a tentacled big bad hellbent on destroying the world, and even a mysterious hair-metal guitarist wailing on his axe while a creepy rendition of Journey’s “Separate Ways” drones on in the background.

Created by the Duffer Brothers, “Stranger Things” co-stars Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Natalia Dyer, Maya Hawk, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Brett Gelman, Joe Chrest, Matthew Modine, and Paul Reiser. The nine-episode fourth season will drop in two installments, with volume one arriving May 27 and volume two hitting Netflix July 1.

“Stranger Things 4” Vol. 1 debuts May 27 on Netflix.
