Melissa McCarthy and her real-life husband Ben Falcone find love, spirituality, and perhaps even the apocalypse in the trailer for their upcoming Netflix comedy “God’s Favorite Idiot.” The actors and comedians star as Amily and Clark, two tech company co-workers whose relationship and office space gets thrown for a loop after Clark is struck with a divine bolt of lightning.

“I did zero cocaine preceding the event I’m about to describe,” Amily tells her colleagues (above) before detailing the holy occurrence. “Clark was glowing. I also accidentally roofied myself, too, but I don’t know if that was really relevant.”

Office work takes a backseat, however, after the bolt of lightning leads to Clark glowing at strange times, disruptive religious protests outside the building, and visits from major mythological players including the archangel Chamuel, the four horse people of the apocalypse, and, eventually, Satan herself (Leslie Bibb).

Created by Falcone, the series also co-stars Kevin Dunn, Yanic Truesdale, and Usman Ally. This is far from the first time Falcone and McCarthy have worked together on a comedy project, of course. She has previously starred in a handful of his movies, including “Tammy,” “Superintelligence,” “Thunder Force,” and “The Boss,” the latter of which she visited the Stern Show to promote back in 2016. Watch a clip from that interview (below).
