VIDEO: Ben Affleck Battles a Super-Powered Bank Robber in 'Hypnotic' Trailer

The world’s greatest detective investigates a different kind of supervillain in the trailer for “Hypnotic,” hitting theaters in May.

The action-packed sci-fi thriller follows a detective played by Ben Affleck, a.k.a. “Justice League’s” Batman, as he pursues bank robbers under the sway of a man with the power of hypnosis (William Fichtner). Worlds collide after Affleck’s character teams up with a psychic (Alice Braga) to discover that the heists are connected not only to a shadowy government program but also the case of his own missing daughter.

Directed and co-written by Robert Rodriguez (“From Dusk Till Dawn”), “Hypnotic” co-stars J.D. Pardo, Hala Finley, Jeff Fahey, Dayo Okeniyi, and Jackie Earle Haley. The film is one of several high-profile 2023 projects for Affleck, who directed and stars opposite Matt Damon in the biopic “Air” and will reprise the role of the Dark Knight in June’s “The Flash.”
