Diehard “A Nightmare on Elm Street” fan Wendy the Slow Adult had a lifelong dream come true recently when the Stern Show arranged for her to meet the franchise’s star, Robert Englund. On Monday, Howard played exclusive footage of her encounter with Englund, who plays Freddy Krueger, at a Florida horror convention.
“Oh, I cannot wait,” the Wack Packer told staffer Wolfie when she learned of the news. “It makes me feel really happy because I am a big fan of his — yeehaw!”
When the day finally arrived, Wendy came prepared in full Freddy attire, complete with his famous claws, hat, sweater, and even mask. She also had no problem performing her impression for Englund. “It’s a very good sweater … that’s a very good laugh,” the star observed before getting into dueling Freddys with the Wack Packer.
“This guy’s the nicest guy,” Howard noted.
“This guy is an angel, I cannot say that enough,” Wolfie agreed before explaining that Englund arranged for a private meeting before convention attendees arrived. “I think we scheduled 15 minutes, [and] he spent over an hour with Wendy — it was amazing.”
