The Stern Show capped off the week with a surprise appearance from Bravo legend and SiriusXM host Andy Cohen, who popped into the studio to chat about everything from the latest drama on “The Real Housewives” and “The Traitors” to how much fun he and longtime friend Anderson Cooper had attending last month’s “Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special.” Speaking about the star-studded tribute, Andy told Howard he thoroughly enjoyed recent Stern Show guest Cher’s performance at the Radio City Music Hall concert celebrating “SNL.” He also revealed his unbridled love for the “If I Could Turn Back Time” singer earned him some side eye from a certain A-list actor in attendance.

“I got castigated by Tom Hanks for my love of Cher!” Andy told Howard with a laugh on Wednesday, explaining how the “Cast Away” star and 10-time “SNL” host gave Andy a gentle ribbing after watching him hoot and holler when Cher took the stage. “No one jumped to their feet quicker than I, and Tom Hanks was sitting in the aisle across from me, and he ran over, and he’s like, ‘We get it. You like Cher,’” Cohen added.

Co-host Robin Quivers thought the anecdote was hilarious. “Tom Hanks was saying you’re overacting,” she joked.

“Yes, he was, and I was like, ‘Can I just enjoy Cher?’” Andy laughed.

The topic of conversation eventually turned to dating, and Andy was all too happy to share his thoughts on the love life of some of Howard’s staffers. About five years ago, as Stern Show fans no doubt remember, Andy agreed to go on a date with staffer Chris Wilding. While no love connection was ultimately made, the two did enjoy a memorable evening out. On Wednesday, Andy once again assisted Chris with matters of the heart — this time he agreed to help the staffer get on the exclusive, celebrity-filled dating app Raya.

“Put me down as a referral,” Andy said, adding, “There’s no reason why Chris Wilding wouldn’t be on Raya.”

Would Cohen also help unlucky-in-love staffer JD Harmeyer get onto Raya?

Andy was conflicted. Initially, he suggested Howard’s spoon-collecting media producer might have more luck on a different dating app. “JD, you’re a sweetheart, so I don’t understand why this should be a problem. You’re an eligible, straight, 45-year-old guy with a good job. You’re high profile. You love TV,” he began.

Before long, however, the idea of JD joining Raya had grown on him. “I’m changing [my mind]. I would recommend JD,” Cohen concluded. “I think a girl would be lucky to have you, JD.”
