Howard said Benjy was also behaving strangely at the party, parading around with his girlfriend, Elisa, like a “big star” in an uncharacteristic “hip-hop” outfit. Benjy said the clothes were Elisa’s idea: “She said she had an outfit ready for me and that was the outfit.” Gary said Benjy and Elisa sat alone in a giant booth: “It was definitely a funny vibe. Like he was a big star and wasn’t going to talk to people.” Howard agreed: “It seemed like a show to me. Am I off-base?” Benjy answered typically, obliquely.
