Early in the show, Howard noted that writer/director Judd Apatow had criticized (on Twitter) Howard’s frequent discussion of “America’s Got Talent”–and sarcastically decided to shift his show’s focus: “I’m [now] doing the show for the man who created ‘Funny People.'” Later, Howard later scoffed: “He calls me self indulgent? … Watch ‘Funny People.’ Just when you think it’s gonna end, it keeps going. And going. And going.”
