Early in the show, Howard read over some of the ideas submitted by staffers for his most recent Letterman appearance, laughing particularly hard at JD’s overly-elaborate bits: “Anything that came into your head, you just wrote down?” JD shrunk from the ideas–and Howard’s gaze: “When you’re staring at me like you don’t know what I’m talking about, yeah, I lose a little confidence.”
