Amy Schumer Will Do Season 5 of Her Show but ‘Not Any Time Soon’
Comedian tells Howard the extended “Inside Amy Schumer ” hiatus is a result of being hospitalized while shooting her new Goldie Hawn movie
Fans of Amy Schumer’s Comedy Central show “Inside Amy Schumer” will definitely get to see a Season 5, but they’ll have to wait a little while for the series’ return. Amy told Howard on Tuesday that she’s more focused on her health right now than on her show.
“I’m not lazy, but I’ve been working too hard and I did get myself sick and I don’t have the time to stop and really get better,” she said. “I can’t see doing [Season 5] any time soon.”
Saying that she got herself sick is an understatement. This summer, production had to be temporarily shut down on her upcoming movie with Goldie Hawn after Amy became so sick and coughed so hard, she fractured a rib and wound up in the hospital.
“I would have still gone to work, but the doctor, insurance wouldn’t clear me. I was really sick,” Amy told Howard. “I’m making Goldie sit around. Goldie’s busy! It was one of the worst times of my life.”
With her new book “The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo” out and a stand-up tour still months away from ending, it hasn’t been easy for Amy to recover.
“I’m just very tired,” she said. “I’m trying to take care of myself.” However, Amy told Howard she doesn’t plan on taking a proper break until after New Year’s Eve.
“The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo” is now available wherever books are sold. For tour and ticket information, go to amyschumer.com.
