While Howard was perturbed to say the least by JD Harmeyer’s decision to break the news of his engagement on Twitter instead of saving the news for the Stern Show airwaves, the incident did bring about an opportunity to make a point.
The King of All Media took a moment on Tuesday to express to his staff that the show doesn’t only belong to him, it belongs to all of them. “We are Negan,” he said, referencing a line from AMC’s “The Walking Dead.”
However, to keep his guys in line even Negan needs the looming presence of Lucille, a barbed-wire covered bat with no remorse. So, within a day of Howard’s Negan reference, “The Walking Dead” folks had already shipped a brand new Lucille to the studio for the explicit purpose of keeping the Stern Show staff in order.
“You’re going to think I went too far,” Howard said to Robin as he took it out of the case. His co-host, though, screamed in excitement: “Oh my goodness!”
